(From Chess Life, August 1987) The entire Polgar family came to the 1987 New York Open. Susan Polgar (center) played in the International Section, while 10-year old Judith (left) and 12-year old Sophia played in the Under-2400 tournament. Judith scored 5-3, while Sophia crushed IM Elliott Winslow to win the first brilliancy prize.
