Showcase cancels Endgame, part II...

After a few days, I recieved a standard form reply to my original E-Mail:

Thank you for contacting Showcase. As you know, we have decided not to renew the series Endgame for a second season. This was a very challenging decision for us, but while we are very proud of the series, for a number of reasons, including audience numbers, we have decided to put our efforts behind other returning series and commissioning new and exciting projects which will be announced in the coming weeks. We appreciate the enthusiasm that the Endgame audience is demonstrating and hope that they will continue to support Showcase and its programming.

Showcase cancels Endgame?!?

And this just in... Showcase cancelled Endgame, though there planning to show the rest of the episodes for this season. I don't get the logic of this move, but while I mention it, the production company can't seem to use actual chess positions during a storyline (eg. Ep. 11 - Mr. Black, there were numerous wrong positions, they also played the game too fast, I guess the production company feels that people that watch the series don't play chess?!?).
