Finally I got around to figuring out how to offer the games database that I've been working on for over a year for download. And now I can finally offer it. This is GriphBase v0.01b, a SCID compatible chess database. I took my enormous collection of PGN games and imported them through the SCID database (this also includes 807 issues of The Week in Chess). And here is the result (download GriphBase v0.01b here). GriphBase is 174 megs in size and has been compressed to the RAR format. I hope that you enjoy this work. There are a total of 1,735,719 games contained in the database, and the database was last updated April 30, 2010. It took me awhile to figure out how SCID works as a chess database, but for something that's free it's worth a look. The SCID website can be accessed here. I hope you appreciate the work that I've put into the database.
The database is also offered in the PGN games and GriphBase section, located to the left of the bl0g page (under the Chess Related Links section).
